“My wife and I recently completed a Motorhome Manoeuvring Course led by Nigel of RoadSafe Wales at their base in Pembrey. I had experience of driving a motorhome before but my wife hadn't and was very nervous about driving our new van.
He started by getting my wife to drive around a circuit, building her confidence and getting used to steering and breaking, explaining the turning radius of the van and what to watch out for. The next part of the course was practicing reversing/parking and turning out of junctions safely, all instruction was given very clearly and calmly.
After lunch, we progressed to driving our van on the actual road! My wife was very nervous to start, but Nigel's calm, patient manner meant that she was confidently driving the van around the local area in a very short time. We would recommend this course to anyone, as a more experienced motorhome driver I also picked up many useful practices and believe that I am a safer and smoother driver after attending.”

“Spent a morning with Nigel learning the basics of caravan handling, hitching, manoeuvring, etc. Nigel is great. Clearly hugely knowledgable, but manages to deliver and impart that knowledge clearly and concisely. I went from not having a caravan anywhere near my car previously, to hitching up and driving/manoeuvring with confidence. I’d recommend RoadSafe Wales to anyone looking to start out. “Whilst on Holiday in France I suffered an injury which highlighted to my wife & I, that had it been worse, she would have had difficulty in getting back to the UK as I did all the driving. She did not feel confident enough to handle our 2.5m wide, 7.5m long Motorhome. As a result, we made the decision to book on to one of RoadSafe Wales' familiarisation/manoeuvering courses.
I would highly recommend it. From having never sat in the drivers seat to now handling the vehicle with ease and being able to negotiate her way with confidence through narrow roads with parked cars on either side is a testament to the excellent way the course was delivered and the instructor’s manner which allowed her confidence to grow.

“Attended a couples caravan course last week with Nigel at the Pembrey circuit. This is our first caravan and he gave us the confidence to tow to Brynich in Brecon the following day.
My wife was extremely nervous having never driven my electric car but was put at ease and was able to manoeuvre the caravan around the course and reverse.
The course teaches you about hitching, noseweight, levelling, manoeuvring, reversing and the all important getting on to a pitch.
Nigel is very patient and provided excellent tuition to give us the confidence to start our caravanning adventures. Highly recommended and well worth doing the course.”
